A Tragedy Of Errors

Darkness pervades the land
An evil nay justice dwells
This jungle apparition
Conquers the sanity, even of the leaders

A fierce battle arises
Survival becomes the watchword
Every man must, for himself strive
Thus, our land becomes a jungle

Anarchy rules supreme
Law and order, mere dreams
Chants of ‘e don tay’ fills the air
With the sad realisation ‘aye nse ‘ru e’*

We cower and hide
Who will, for us this beast tame
For it rules our land strongly
And the ‘civilised’, culprits have been

Our rage soars, anger befriends us
Like ‘the hulk’ enormous monsters we sire
Unlike him, they cannot withstand
So, we cower and hide, hoping, expecting

Who will save us?
Whence cometh our salvation?
This beast reigns and rules with fear
Our inability to stand has enslaved us

Our tears flow ceaseless
We watch the carnage, helpless
We decry the brutality
But, we forget, we once championed it

Let this beast go
Let freedom be our guide
Let Justice be enthroned
And the jungle be left in the forest
Let justice reign
Make all men equal

*aye nse ru e – it’s a common event/occurrence

– In memory of all the slain.

May their families know peace.
